A tradeshow is an industry fair where manufacturers show off their products and services to prospective retailers. Tradeshows are generally held in huge arenas or convention centers, and can have literally hundreds of different companies all vying for the attention of thousand different retailers or other companies looking for new products to endorse. The kind of products and services will determine the theme of the tradeshow. For instance, at Auto Shows, you will see products and services relating to automobiles, such as insurance companies, car care products, dealerships, etc. The same would apply to Writers conventions, where you may meet
authors, publishers, printing houses, and the like, all of whom will be trying their best to attract attention for their product.

The convention center is sectioned into dozens, if not hundreds of groups of industry-related
items, representatives have to grab the attention of the tradeshow attendee. This is where tradeshow displays have the greatest impact on successful or failure.

The first time I attended a tradeshow, I couldn't help comparing the different representative
to Carnival Barkers, all vying for the attendees' attention. Their booths ranged from the basic tabletops, banners, and literature racks, to elaborate lighting illumination, sound systems, and giveaways.

The more effective tradeshow displays are planned and coordinated, making them standout
form the other booths. Their companies create an interest in their product by how they display that product within the booth using truly original and innovating ideas, which attract the attention of the tradeshow attendees. It is this eye-catching display that draws the perspective customer to the booth.

Tradeshow Display Booths
Display booths have to standout and draw attention in a positive way. This presents a unique challenge: how do you attract attention in a room where hundreds of others are attempting the same thing and do it without annoying the very people you trying to attract? What is too much glitz and what's not enough?

Designing a Tradeshow Booth
Tradeshow booths can range from complex two-story booths to self-serving portable displays, which are fully assembled in twenty minutes. The two main factors which affect your decision on which display booth design are cost and time.

Pop-up Displays and Their Options
Pop-up booths come in both floor models and tabletop models as well as in a wide range of styles, materials, colors, and designs. They are lightweight and easy to set up in just four simple steps from start to finish.

Making People Remember Your Tradeshow Display Booth
At the writer's conventions, I walked past several memorable tradeshow display booths. There was one for a children's educational books publisher, which was extremely colorful and designed around three rotating, wire literature-racks.
